MEMORIAL for NORM HARMSTON


Norman L. Harmston, 83, of Lakeport, CA, passed away May 9, 2010 at the VA Hospital of San Francisco, CA. Norman was born August 24, 1926 in Roosevelt, Utah to Arthur M. and Elise L. Harmston who preceded him in death.

Norman served in the US Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater.

He was a general contractor for many years and retired in Lakeport, CA.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling as well as watching football and baseball.

He was also active in the VFW and American Legion for many years.

Norman had a great love for all his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Norman was preceded in death by his wife, Irene A. Harmston; brother, Floyd Harmston; and sisters, Norma Hohrein and Elsa Graham. He is survived by his brother Lawrence (LaDean) of Idaho Falls, ID and Charles (Margaret) of Mesa, AZ; sons, Lynn (Sheryl) of Sutter Creek, Clayton (Marlene) of Concord; daughters, Rea Wilson of Huntsville, Al., Chris (Patrick) Lynch of Kelseyville, Carol Lima (Steve Winant) of Lakeport, Vickie (Dave) Cooper of Woodland; grandchildren, Xzenia Richards of Vallejo, Cory Wilson of Fairfield, William and Katie of Concord, Keith (Jennifer) Lynch of Enoch, UT., Shannon Lynch of Lakeport, Becky (Mel) Lima-Freeman of Stockton, Jonathan Lima Hill, AFB, UT, Dustin (Christine) Cooper of Paradise, Chelsie (Sean) Fuller of Woodland, Kevin Cooper of Woodland, Zoe Lynch of Kelseyville; great-grandchildren, Jacob Lima-Freeman of Stockton, Brandon Fuller of Woodland, Larson and Caitlin Cooper of Paradise; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial service will be held at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary, 1625 N. High St., Lakeport at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 15. Graveside services will follow at Hartley Cemetery.
